where is this sun you speak of?

A spontaneous night which was spent existing for the love of volunteering and music all for the intention to help the victims of typhoon Haiyan, locally known as Yolanda, the strongest typhoon to ever hit land in the history of humanity. Half of the night was spent with friends at Philippine Red Cross packing different sizes of bottled waters by a dozen. It was almost 9 in the evening when the operations stopped so we spent some minutes at Freedom park while waiting for other friends to come by. We found ourselves at Sales Bar Tekanplor where we heard three local bands play their masterpieces. Almost everyone sang along while I listened carefully to the beat of every song. I became an instant fan of The Sound of Go. We sat in a small, comfy sofa farthest from the stage among other strangers. I've gained friends throughout college and most of them are boys. These people are like family to me. They share their secrets, stories, dreams, and love problems (and stories!) . I am just glad to be around them -- crazy, awesome and, most of the time, out-of-this-world. We have grown up together but I still feel young whenever I'm with them despite the fact that most of them are engineers now. Anyway, we had a burger night on a Sunday over at Francis' crib.  We made our own burgers with the help of Carlo.  Here is the recipe (that I'm trying to remember) The Nird Burger  ('Nird' from Roger's t-shirt print) Ingredients: Ground beef Evaporated Milk Ketchup Worchershire sauce Seasoning Eggs Rosemary Cheese Burger buns Onions Lettuce Procedure: In a bowl, mix ground beef, evaporated milk, eggs, seasoning, rosemary, and worchershire sauce. It was one happy night! No bad vibes whatsoever. I miss family gatherings like this :') Looking forward for more. Props to Milca family for hosting this very random event. I'm so grateful for these people. I wish someday we'll all be complete. I kind of miss having a mini get-together with my own family as well. Soon.   Because even if there are people who try to bring you down all the time, there are other people who lift you up higher than where you are now. These people are part of your family. My first adventure for this year was spent to a travel north which took around 10 hours drive from Davao City to Cagayan de Oro City. Together with family, relatives, and my brother's friends, we traveled and had seen beautiful landscapes in Northern Mindanao, Philippines. We went to Cagayan de Oro City because my second brother, Junjun, got married to Anna. She is from the north and so my family got to see her relatives and stroll around the city as well. It's my first time in Cagayan de Oro and I have no photos to share except for mostly on-the-road ones. Too bad. Last November, I won Humble Pie Vintage 's giveaway. Arielle, the owner of the blog, has a lot of awesome vintage stuff and she's so generous to share it with her readers. I got the package roughly three weeks after she sent it. Here are the stuff I got:     A vintage match box.   Look, it's very old but still very pretty.    A vintage necklace.   Two vintage photographs. I wonder who took these shots. I wonder what camera and film were used.    It came with a herringbone (or zigzag?) patterned-card! Thank you very much, Arielle. You know it's my first time to win a blog giveaway. This is my niece Jasmine. She's 5 years old. She's curious, hyper and wise. I like babysitting her but most of the time, I get headaches because she asks a lot of questions. And when I throw her questions back, she answers it very cleverly. One of her wishes was to ride the merry-go-round. These pictures were taken on her first time to ride the merry-go-round. She was very excited and happy! While she was there, she looked at every tiny bits that surrounded her. The lights, the paints, the pole and even the pulley below the horsie she's on. She's one curious kid! A simple little girl who has a lot of questions in mind! I'm happy to have witnessed her grow up and I am excited to witness her become a lady. :)
