The Burj Khalifa - the highest skyscraper in the world Reading - I'm currently reading several blogs about places that I can visit in Manila and neighboring cities for my short vacation on November.  Writing - About my short vacation in Surigao which will be posted after this entry.  Listening - 500 Days of Summer soundtracks. Thinking - About how my first long flight with Cebu Pacific will be!  Loving - taking naps in the afternoons before hitting the gym. It's something that I look forward to after work! Feeling - a bit sleepy. The afternoon light in this room is too relaxing. I might just doze off after this. Clicking - some blogs about Fortune Islands, Nasugbu, Batangas. I really want to visit this place!

Tinuy-an Falls, Surigao del Sur, Philippines

We conquered a part of Surigao del Sur back in July 2016. There are so many places to visit in Surigao del Sur and I wish I could visit each of them. I'm glad that I was able to share this travel experience in Surigao del Sur with my family and family friends. First stop is Tinuy-an Falls. Located in Bislig, Surigao del Sur. Tinuy-an means intentional. The Legend of Tinuy-an Falls Legend revealed that long before the Magdiwatu Mountain Settlers were enslaved by cruel tribesmen coming from the hinterlands of Agusan. They were mistreated by their masters and were forced to perform hard manual labor. Tired of the maltreatment, the brave natives convened among themselves and created a plan to be free of the cruelty. So, one day, while rowing the gakit (bamboo raft) boarded by their masters, the slaves jumped off and intentionally shoved the gakit towards the waterfalls killing all their vicious masters and attaining the freedom that they longed for. From then on, the high ...

Life Lately | 3

I turned 26 a few days ago... I took a day off on my birthday - I jogged on the treadmill for half an hour, cut my hair short, an hour of full body massage, ate my favorite salad (mambo salad), attended mass, and met up a few people along the way. It was nice. I bought a new book - The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. So far I am enjoying it.  Visited Hatta with my family. It was nice to finally see mountains, greenery, and less people. We had cakes and sandwiches in the office. There are seven September babies in the office so far! And then I got sick after a few days... probably because of the change of weather. It always happens to me ever since I came in Dubai.  My roommate came back from Philippines. She brought home food! Yay! A shot of the sunset from my office today just before I left. It's getting cold now. Winter is coming. :)

Canibad, Samal Island

Image
Right after a short swimming time (and jumping off cliffs) in Acantilado , we decided to go to Canibad. To the other side of the island. We got lost but it was fun.  It was good to be back after five years! It was great to spend the day with these people! I think nothing has changed except our goals and dreams in life. And also probably body fats for some of us! Haha I'm looking forward to seeing these people again hopefully soon :)

Time and Distance

I've been struggling for a while now trying to find the right words to say or write about you. As the years go by, my feelings slowly taste bland. Is this how it is supposed to be? The longer the years of longing, the more immune you are of the distance. The absence becomes too real that you are actually not looking for its time of presence anymore. Time... How tricky it is to get attached to someone whose time zone is slightly opposite to yours. Distance... How surprising it is to think about a love that is going across the other side of the world. As these two expand, the bond becomes weaker and weaker until it breaks. Until then no words could be written down on a piece of paper. No mailman will be standing outside our doors. No line will be connected from here to there. Until then we start over again with our own selves. Until then.

Acantilado, Samal Island

Image
I went back home on July this year and had a good three weeks vacation. My first weekend adventure was spent with my college friends at Acantilado, Island Garden City of Samal! Francis, EIleen, me, Carlo, Don, Adrian and JP We left the city with all smiles at around 9 ish am which was supposed to be 7 am if only Carlo woke up earlier! Hahaha There is no entrance fee in this area. You just have to go there, park your car, enjoy the breeze and the view, and jump off the cliff!  Samal Island is like my second home. It's the closest place I'd go to if I want some adventure. I guess all Dabawenyos would say the same! At the tip of the cliff.  We spent almost half a day in the area and decided to drive to Canibad (on the other side of the island). We kind of got lost going there but it's fine as long as our favorite songs are played on the stereo! Good times. I honestly miss everybody. :) Good times, craz...
