After a whole week of stress

Image
For this semester, at least the early weeks of it, Thursday nights have been sometimes spent with classmates in a place nearby the university. So much talk, beer, juice and some caramel popcorn. Since most of us have no classes on Fridays, this somehow becomes our weekending where we pour all our thoughts and feelings and share laughter after a whole week of stress. Comforting.

Love can be everything

Love. It's not solely about having someone to romanticize with rather  something that I know I will forever cherish. It doesn't mean I can't love someone for a long time, though. I could and we could do something that he might love, too. It could be anything that makes you feel good. Such as songs that keep you sane; television series that take away your stress; books that help you escape from reality; or movies that you still love no matter how many times you've watched them. It could be watching the sunrise. To feel the sunlight on your skin which reminds you that you are alive and you are capable of laughing among all other things. Or it could be watching the sunset. To remind you to slow down because tomorrow's going to be another day. To remind you to take a rest because being alive doesn't always mean to take actions of everything and finish everything in a day. You have to rest for it has been a productive one. It could be being with fr...

Watercolor Post Card

Image
I made a watercolor post card for my sister Rachel and her husband Melbert in Dubai. It's an animated version of their photo where my sister wore a pink shirt and blue shirt for Kuya Mel on Easter Sunday of 2009. :) I wanted to try out painting using water colors. And the first thing that came to mind was to paint the sea. While doing some drafts, I realized that I could use a photograph as a model because my drafts were kind of boring. Found myself painting an animated version of Ate Rachel and Kuya Mel's photo. Look, my sister took a photo of my card! (The upper part was slightly crumpled though, that's what you get when you pay only an ordinary shipping for mails. Hihi.) From Paris with love. (In your dreams, Debie. In your dreams.)

Moving closer and closer and closer

I feel like moving closer although I am not sure what is there. All these happenings forced me to change my attitude, views and way of thinking in which I think will lead me for the betterment of myself. It happened so fast that it took me a while to realize that it has a big impact in my life. During that time, it is in the process of building up and, little did I know, after a while the abstract is making its own clarity. Some things really force you to grow up... even if you don't want to. You have to and you must. The changes in other persons' lives will definitely, somehow, change yours too. Any way you view it, we are interconnected with each other (whether you like it, or not). I say betterment of myself because even though sometimes it hurts, I learn something. Looking forward for more as I am still young to say I learned a lot. There are more problems to face and more laughter to make. I am not only moving closer there but I am grasping everything, soaking up...

Greenwich Pizza Blowout

Image
I was invited to The Greenwich Pizza Blowout at SM City Davao last September 14, 2012. It was my first time to attend a blogger event so I got so excited to meet some of the Davao Bloggers. Also, I was so excited to take a bite of the Greenwich Special Overload Pizza and the Extraordinary Greenwich Crispy Glazed Chicken! Look at that! I can still remember the juiciness and the awesome taste of this pizza. And I can feel you're craving for some while reading this! :p I have to admit, it's pretty cool to eat with awesome strangers who have the same passion as you: blogging. Not to mention, they are very friendly. =) The next blowout is the Greenwich Crispy Glazed Chicken!  Fried Chicken is one of the most popular food in the Philippines. And this, my friend, is the best Fried Chicken I've ever tasted. Best when partnered with rice! It isn't the boring kind of Fried Chicken you can taste. It  tastes sweet and spicy at the same...

Crimson Red Heart-shaped Stone

Image
My sister got this heart-shaped stone the first time I brought her to Canibad with neighborhood friends last two years. We were supposed to go to some nearby beaches in Samal Island but since it was Easter Sunday, all the beach cottages were full. So, I decided to bring them to Canibad which takes up to an hour of up, down, zigzag travel. It was worth it. :) After two years, we finally decided to paint it with Crimson Red.

The Old Man And The Sea

Image
The Old Man is Santiago. He had gone 84 days without any catch. Manolin, a young boy, wanted to fish with him again but Santiago wanted him to stay with other fishermen because they're lucky. The young boy had gone fishing with him on the first 40 days but his father and mother did not want him to fish with Santiago anymore because he is now finally salao (a worst form of unlucky) . Santiago taught Manolin how to fish and this is why the young boy love him so much and would love to go fishing with him again so he could learn more. But Santiago went on fishing without the young boy. Santiago did not give up. His hopes are still up. He had gone fishing all by himself but this time farther than the usual. He caught the biggest Marlin he ever saw after three days in the sea. When he got back, fishermen saw it and was amazed, too. But they couldn't do anything about it since the meat was eaten by sharks along Santiago's way home. During Santiago's sail, he kep...

Gardening: new plants

Image
We've added new plants to our little garden but I don't know their names! My sister and cousin, who've selected them from the farm, don't know or have forgotten their names, too.  Baby's breath. I visualize a beautiful garden surrounded by these little cuties! :P It finally bloomed after 3 months! So damn sexy flower hahaha My cousin transferred my Pechay seedlings so he could take care of them while I'm in school.  Rose!  Romel, my cousin, brought three of this kind from work. So pretty and pure. Transferred them into old pots. I get so happy when I see them bloom! :)

Now or never

Dare yourself. Because sometimes, it only boils down to Now or Never. I am not a daring person but sometimes I play with my own emotions. There is always fun in every little thing in this world; there is more fun in trying the things you are afraid of. I did several stuff through the years and I am glad I've done them because if I didn't I will be full of regrets as I grow old. And I don't want to live a life full of regrets! Life is soooooooooo beautiful! Go, dare yourself. Do the things that you've been wanting to do but can't because you're too afraid. It won't hurt so much, I promise! Take care and have fun! :)

Sun City

Image
Another afternoon spent with friends, food and some hardcore longboard players in Sun City. It's been years since the last time I was there. The first time I was there (2007), I made a school project (music video, I guess?) with high school friends. We were like prisoners who got out from prison for years because we were running around the place, shouting. Now, when I got back, I didn't get to play longboard for a long time because I enjoyed watching my friends and their friends go downhill and/or doing some tricks. I even witnessed a slight accident. Ha! To be honest, I was hesitant to play around because I was too shy and nervous to know that people are going to watch me hahahaha  Jaja! A high school friend/neighbor/bandmate (in high school). We finally saw each other after years!! :) Tipin! Jaja, Daboy, and Eileen So clear! Kevin carrying our bags :P All photos are taken (by: Tip or me) using Tip...

The joy being with happy friends is priceless

Image
It was a humid afternoon and I wanted to be out with my friends. I've been wanting to try Glenn's Pintail for a long time now so we decided to play longboarding that Friday afternoon. So here we are playing over one longboard. 😂 * * Myt being a rock star! Glenn and his very own Pintail! Myt on board and Mark with his Holga Lomo cam * * * It was Myt, Mark and Tip's first time to play longboard. And I think they got addicted to it. * Mark! Also, skimmer duuuuude! * * Tip! * Yay! It was a fun 3-hour play! It would be nice if we all have our own boards, though. Also, it would be nice if I know some tricks. I just love playing longboarding. The sense of balance relaxes my mind and body. And the joy of being with happy friends is priceless. 😊 All photos are mine except for some taken from Tip's ca mera (captioned with an asterisk).
